Welcome to our website! I hope this gives you a little peek into the magic that is AKASHA. We are conveniently located about 17 miles northwest of Charlottesville, Virginia. This is “a very special gathering place” for friends, families and other groups who want to enjoy an intimate and peaceful retreat with each other in a serenely beautiful location. AKASHA is designed for overnight groups of 10-14 or non-residential groups of up to 25.
Spring has indeed sprung up here in the foothills of Loft Mountain. The Japanese cherry tree is in full bloom and is humming with a concert of buzzing bees. Wanda has started planting some greens in the vegetable garden.
One of my favorite moments of this season is going out to the gardens and clearing away leaves and last year’s growth to reveal the new green growth of our perennials. I feel the same kind of rebirth in my heart at this time of year.
Our guests have enjoyed beautiful weather during their visits, even over most of the winter. While we only enjoyed one gorgeous snow storm, we did experience several significant wind events. Unfortunately, one storm actually took down the tipi, which is now in need of some repair. Look forward to another tipi raising sometime this summer!
We appreciate all of you who have made AKASHA your home for annual events. It’s so great to see our friends come back year after year, or sometimes more that once a year! If you have a group that you meet with regularly, come on up and check us out as a very special place to gather with your friends, family or coworkers. We still have some available weekends over the summer for guests. Hope to see you soon.
